Heli-Skiing in Chile
Overview
Chile offers some of the most spectacular, untouched helicopter skiing on the planet. From the towering, 20,000-foot peaks of the Central Andes to the glaciated fjords of Patagonia, the terrain is massive, exclusive, and entirely yours. Because heli-skiing is a highly specialized experience with strictly limited availability, we act as your personal mountain concierges. We design custom, date-specific itineraries tailored to your group’s skill level, ensuring you fly in the best zones with the absolute best conditions.
Explore Our Heli Ski Zones
The Central Andes
Located just outside the capital, the Central Andes offer massive vertical drops, long sunny days, and high-altitude dry powder. This zone provides the steepest and most dramatic terrain in the Southern Hemisphere.
We offer two distinct ways to experience this region:
●From Santiago (Urban to Alpine)
The Vibe: Maximum efficiency and cosmopolitan luxury.
The Experience: Stay in a 5-star hotel in the heart of Santiago (or at a nearby ski resort) and have the helicopter pick you up for a quick flight into the deep backcountry. You can ski 15,000 vertical feet of virgin snow and be back in the city in time for a world-class dinner.
●From a Vineyard (Wine & Powder)
The Vibe: Authentic Chilean elegance and deep relaxation.
The Experience: Base your trip in a historic hacienda or a luxury winery in the valleys below the Andes. Your helicopter departs directly from the vineyards, taking you straight to the high peaks. After a day of untouched powder, return to your lodge for private wine tastings and exceptional local gastronomy.
The Volcano District (The Lake District)
The Vibe: Surreal landscapes and active craters.
The Experience: Located in the Araucanía and Los Lagos regions, this zone offers one of the most unique heli-skiing experiences on Earth. You will fly over and ski down the flanks of massive, snow-capped (and sometimes smoking) volcanoes. The runs often end in ancient Araucaria (Monkey Puzzle) forests, and the days finish soaking in natural thermal hot springs. It is a perfect blend of consistent snow, approachable terrain, and otherworldly scenery.
3. Deep Patagonia (The Glacier & Fjord Frontier)
The Vibe: The absolute edge of the world.
The Experience: This is the ultimate, remote luxury expedition. Located in the far south of Chile, the Andes shatter into an archipelago of deep blue fjords, massive ice fields, and ancient glaciers. Access is strictly by private charter. You will ski pristine maritime powder that very few humans have ever touched, ending your runs looking down at the Pacific Ocean. Lodging here consists of ultra-exclusive, world-class wilderness lodges that redefine off-the-grid luxury.

Seasonality & Dates
Chile’s geography spans over 4,000 kilometers, meaning the «perfect time to fly» depends entirely on which region you choose. As you move from the high altitudes of the Central Andes down to the glaciated fjords of Patagonia, the prime weather windows shift. Here is our guide to hitting the best conditions.
●The Central Andes (Santiago & Vineyards)
Prime Window: Mid-July to Early September
This is the heart of the South American winter. Because of the extreme altitudes (often flying above 14,000 feet), this region offers the coldest temperatures and the driest, lightest powder. Mid-July through August is generally the sweet spot for deep storm cycles and classic winter freeriding conditions.
●The Volcano District (Lake District)
Prime Window: August to Late September
Further south, the base elevations are lower, but the maritime storms deliver massive amounts of snow. Late August through September is spectacular here. You get a perfect mix of late-season powder days and the beginning of legendary spring «corn snow» cycles, complete with longer, sunnier days perfect for afternoon tailgates by the hot springs.
●Deep Patagonia (Glacier & Fjord Frontier)
Prime Window: September to October
In the deep south, the winters are fierce, and the weather is too volatile for consistent flying in July or August. The magic happens in the spring. By September, the snowpack is incredibly deep and stable, allowing helicopters to access massive, glaciated lines. This is the time for big, high-alpine descents with perfect spring conditions under stable, clear skies.
