Mallin Alto

Overview

Mallín Alto offers a wildly unique, off-the-grid ski and snowboard retreat perched high in the Patagonian Andes. Blending the raw adventure of snowmobile-accessed backcountry riding with the premium comfort of luxury glamping domes, it delivers an intimate, highly personalized powder hunting experience completely removed from civilization.

Hotels

Accommodation is integrated directly into the snowy landscape:

• The Luxury Glamping Domes:
With capacity for only 15 guests at a time, these insulated, heated geodesic domes feature comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms with hot showers, and massive transparent panels that allow you to fall asleep looking at the Patagonian stars and wake up to sweeping views of the frozen valley.

Terrain & Amenities

• The Terrain: Guests have exclusive access to over 10,000 hectares of privately managed, unpatrolled backcountry terrain. Transportation up the mountain is handled via customized snowmobiles, allowing for rapid laps on massive, open alpine bowls and sheltered Lenga forests. The terrain caters heavily to strong intermediate and advanced riders looking for natural wind lips, deep untouched snow, and completely private fall lines.

• Amenities: The camp operates entirely off the grid, relying on generators and wood-fired power. Amenities are rustically luxurious, featuring wood-fired outdoor hot tubs perfectly positioned for soaking while watching the sunset over the Andes, and a dedicated kitchen staff turning out exceptional multi-course meals and traditional Argentine «parrilla» (BBQ) using local meats.

How to arrive

Located just 20 minutes south of Bariloche, the true journey begins where the pavement ends. Guests are transported via 4×4 vehicles, and then switch to ATVs and snowmobiles for the final, thrilling ascent to the remote high-alpine camp located at 1,700m
